Found this picture online and was inspired by the innovative use for the typical kitchen preserver. Browsing the web there are literally dozens of different ways to use these lights, including implementing LEDs into the tops, and even forming chandeliers.

Zen inspiration
Karesansui is a type of zen garden, which unlike other traditional gardens, has no water present. There is extensive use of sand or gravel which is typically raked and symbolizes water. This interpretation could be the sea, ocean, rivers or lakes.
Raking the gravel into a pattern recalls waves or rippling water and is done for its aesthetic appeal. People typically practice this raking also to help their concentration and relaxation. It is difficult to create perfect lines, and by embracing this imperfection and creating variation in lines and patterns begins a often times challenging yet creative process.
Objects are placed in this interpretation of water to symbolically represent mountains, islands, boats, or even people. Often these gardens were meant to be viewed from a single vantage point from a seated position. In most gardens moss is used as a ground cover to create “land” covered by forest.
Materiality
“We look for materials which are as breathtakingly beautiful as the cherry blossom in Japan, as dense and compact as the rock formations of the Alps or as mysterious and unfathomable as the surface of the oceans. We look for materials which are as intelligent, versatile and complex as natural phenomena, in other words materials which don’t just appeal to the eyes of the astounded art critic, but are also really efficient and appeal to all our senses – not just vision but also hearing, smell, taste and touch.”
-Pierre de Meuron
Waste of a day?
Recently I have been thinking about how it seems like time is just flying by day by day and I feel like I am not really making the most of my time. This is not necessarily because I am wasting my time, but that I have so many obligations that I do not get to work on anything meaningful. I did some research though and found a good quote-
“the most wasted of all days is one without laughter.”
-E.E. Cummings.
I guess as long as I am laughing, I am not really wasting my days after all.

Interesting movie but I found it very inspirational on how to take time everyday to enjoy the little things. Sometimes its so easy to get caught up in work, that stress can just become routine and take over. I found this quote from the movie inspirational:
“Once upon a time, I wanted to know what love was. Love is there if you want it to be. You just have to see that it’s wrapped in beauty and hidden away in between the seconds of your life. If you don’t stop for a minute, you might miss it.”

Inspiration
“The longer I live the more beautiful life becomes. If you foolishly ignore beauty, you will soon find yourself without it. Your life will be impoverished. But if you invest in beauty, it will remain with you all the days of your life.”
-Frank Lloyd Wright
